Sigh. I was tired and sweating and uncomfortable–and it all comes through in the photo! Whee!

After reading The Steampunk Bible and getting a view of this as something more than just “write cool stories, wear cool clothes” — as in, an introduction to the whole “maker” gift economy, show your work, share your recipe, etc. scene of which I have gone quite unaware — I’m coming to the idea that Steampunk culture can be a much bigger deal than Steampunk fiction. As long as it doesn’t devolve into another gluttonous escapist sideshow, of course, and remains an intentional aesthetic and *ethic* driven movement.
