World Fantasy Con GoH
Jeff VanderMeer • May 8th, 2009 @ 1:41 pm • News
Thrilled to say Ann and I have been asked to be two of the guests of honor for World Fantasy Con this year. Garth Nix and Lisa Snelling are also GoHs, and Jay Lake will be toastmaster. It’s quite an honor.
Update: Michael Swanwick has also been added to the list.

Congrats!
My husband Andy and I are in charge of the Hospitality Suite at WFC 2009, so do be sure to stop by so we can raise a glass with y’all :-)
May 8, 2009 at 4:02 pm
Hey, Kevin! Actually, we were hoping to host a party in the con suite for a couple of hours if at all possible. So that we can raise a glass to you guys!
Thanks for the congrats. It’s been a good week. NYTBR just took my first book review for them, which was a goal for this year or next. Sometimes it feels like hard work–and I have to say Ann’s worked even harder than I have the last two years; she has a day job–goes unrewarded, but this week I feel good about it all.

Congratulations to both of you!
May 8, 2009 at 5:13 pm
Congratulations! But I am SO FREAKIN BUMMED that I won’t be there!!!
May 8, 2009 at 7:49 pm
Very cool for you both. I have to say I’m even more pleased to hear about your upcoming appearance in the NYT, for selfish reasons. I won’t be at the con, but I can read the newspaper.
May 8, 2009 at 8:01 pm
Well, I will be in Seattle after the con to kick off a five-week book tour.

Fantastic news, Jeff. Jackie told me about the GoHship; I told you Memphis was the first of many guest opportunities for Ann–now I feel like a swami!
