I think it's going to take a confluence of sorts, between what people are given (in the form of a gadget) and what is being offered. With technology advancing exponentially, I can't imagine how tough it must be from your perspective. You might inadvertently sign on with the equivalent of a Betamax or something, right when the perfect compromise comes along! For all this to make sense it has to benefit everyone. I'm all for digital works and availability, but only if it makes sense in the long run--which I think it will. I'm just not convinced we're there yet. I totally agree with you there.
