Per my post on current favorite fantasists in the short story form, Matt Staggs has now taken it upon himself to do short interviews with all of the writers on the list. Which should provide readers with more and fascinating information. First up is Kate Bernheimer.

Thanks for starting this dialogue about women and the fantastic. It is lovely of you to have done that.

Kate: Well, thanks, but it seems like a no-brainer. Not that there aren’t male fantasists I like, but in the short story form right now I really do feel like women are the ones pushing the boundaries. It’s exciting, the multitude and variety of voices.
BTW–I should really do a post on the Fairy Tale Review soon.
