I couldn’t sleep last night so I got up and just kinda browsed YouTube for anything interesting, calming, whatever. I found THIS instead, which really didn’t help put me to sleep…

    Well.

I was about to go to bed.
I think instead I’ll browse YouTube for anything interesting, calming, whatever.

Oh my god, that is disturbing!! Almost as disturbing as the “Cat with Hands” short I downloaded from LoveFilm…

Yeah, I’ve got the DVD. Good family fun. Miike does some odd stuff. But in general, Japanese cinema is the last hiding place of the experimental.

You been listening to that Neil Williamson again? I saw this movie round at his house a couple of years ago. Man, it’s some fucked-up shit. I like the zombie dance number meself.

Now I’m beginning to get a better understanding why Japanese culture is so strange to me. It’s the creatures that dance, sing, and come out of people’s mouths. Almost like a combination of a Disney musical and a Tool video.

Hey, Hal. Oddly enough, Ann tells me we’ve *seen* this movie, so I must’ve blocked it from my mind. We went through a very heavy Japanese/Asian cinema phase, so I guess it must’ve been benign compared to some of the other stuff.

Nothing to do with me, that was Marnoch-san’s doing. That’s The Happiness Of The Katakuri’s isn’t it?

aka If Lovecraft had moved to Japan and written a musical…

It’s brilliant. I recommend drinking lots of red wine and watching it with the volume up loud as it goes.
