Must Say…

…the way the review’s written, I’m left with a decidedly non-erotic sense of these stories! C’mon–if they’re erotic, your review should be erotic! (Okay, so this is just a plug for SF Signal, which I check every day.)

It seems like the reviewer was to afraid or self concious to offend people, to really do a good job reviewing.

    JP: LOL!

Well, I got a lot of amusement out of the review–and I don’t really mean that as a dig, just that it’s funny that a review of erotic stories kinda leaves out all the steamy bits.

We try to ride the line between being family friendly and not. Scott was trying to be as FF as he could while dealing with erotic fiction. I think he did a good job.

And don’t think we aren’t amused by his review. We are. Oh, we are.

  4. Jeff VanderMeer says

Yeah, I honestly didn’t post to take Scott to task–the constraint of the context is amusing, though, as you say.

And you have no idea how hard (*cough*) it was to write this without including any double entendres. Things like ‘this story climaxed at the right time’ or ‘the tension built and built until the satisfying payoff’ or worse.

But honestly I appreciate the comment Jeff. It took energy not to utilize the steamier language :).
