Truesdale on 2007 Original Anthologies

Lord knows, I differ with Dave Truesdale on many things, but he’s provided a real service to readers with his breakdown and analysis of the various original anthologies published in 2007 and more or less snubbed in Nebula voting. I don’t agree with all of his assertions, and there’s a bit of raving in there, but it’s still a valuable guide. (And I ain’t sayin’ that because he put “Appoggiatura” on his rec list.)

I hate to say it, but his comments on Duncan’s story in the Solaris anthology jibe fairly much with my first impressions. I plan on re-reading the anthology at some point before I comment at length on it, but I believe we talked before about how disjointed I found that collection and Duncan’s story certainly was a prime example of that.
