It appears to be official now–George RR Martin and Gardner Dozois are editing a Dying Earth anthology. More info at the Fantasy Review. I’ve been invited to be in it, and here’s the rest of the line-up:

Glen Cook
Michael Shea
Terry Dowling
Robert Silverberg
Phyllis Eisenstein
Dan Simmons
Ray Feist
Neil Gaiman
Paula Volsky
Elizabeth Hand
Howard Waldrop
Matt Hughes
Liz Williams
Tanith Lee
Tad Williams
George R.R. Martin
Walter Jon Williams
Michael Moorcock
John C. Wright
Mike Resnick

I put this up the other day and then deleted it until I could confirm it was official.

Totally cool – I’m a big ol’ fan of the original Vance stuff. I can see where you’d fit in just fine.

Thanks for the link Jeff. In preparation for this I just ordered the Jack Vance Treasury from Sub Press. It should be here within a week and I can’t wait to start reading it.

I do have two questions for you. What do you consider to be your best work? If I were to pick up some of your books what should I start with?

City of Saints & Madmen is the one everyone gravitates, too. My personal favorite is Shriek, but I think City is probably the best entry point.

    Cheers,

    Jeff

Just the concept and lineup would be enough for me to automatically buy a copy. This is really shaping up to be a good year for books.
