Another observation about the World Fantasy Award finalists–Strange Horizons really deserved this nomination. Those folks must bust their butts to get content up every week, and, at least for fiction, they pay a decent amount. I read every fantasy story on their site in 2006 and the overall quality was quite high.

In past years, the reviewing has been inconsistent, but, in general, I think that through much of 2006 and now 2007, the reviewing has caught up with the fiction–mostly really good, analytical stuff, with any faults on the too snarky end (sometimes a blessing considering the spinelessness of many reviewers) or over-thought (better than under-thought). Their regular columnists are often quite good, too.
